Cheap Beer in Manhattan

Whether you are a NYC local or visiting for the first time, New York nightlife is second to none. With this legendary status, most places ask for legendary prices. A humble draft can run you $15+ if you're not careful but fear not.I’m not going to gatekeeper these cheap new york city bars from you. Because in reality nothing’s sacred and in no way is this the first list to praise these fairly priced establishments. So grab your drinking buddies and get ready to indulge in quantity. This is a guide to the cheapest beer bars in New York City.

Welcome to the Johnsons
123 Rivington St, New York

Cheapest Beer: PBR $3

Johnsons is the basement I never had. Beers are served from a fridge and good luck getting a spot at the pool table. This bar is live, ready to serve you a PBR and be a resting place for your weary feet on a plastic covered couch. I don’t even know what color the couch is because I’ve never been sober enough to notice. If you’re in the East Village stop by, enjoy the VHS tapes they play on a tiny little TV behind the bar and if you’re lucky, they will be playing your favorite rock song.

Home Sweet Home
131 Chrystie St, New York

Cheapest Beer: Home Sweet Home Lager $6

Popular amongst party goers, Home Sweet Home is an eclectic combination of taxidermy animals on the walls, the perfect dance floor and amazing drinks. The huge disco ball illuminates the partygoers and propels the night forward. The cheap draft beer keeps partygoers moving as the loud sound system rattles the basement space.

We made a running list of cheapest drinks at bars around NYC

Tile Bar
115 1st Ave, New York

Cheapest Beer: High Life $4

Tile Bar is a gem in the east village. Cold cheap beer, great location and a vintage, timeless, rock n roll soundtrack. The feeling of this bar is so far removed from any other bars because its only goal is to exchange your cold hard cash for liquid happiness. Not trying to be anything else than a liquor shelf, you are bound to drum up a conversation with anyone. The pure ease of conversation in this bar is astounding, especially for blokes like me just trying to drink the night away. In a sea of bars that provide a gimmick and elevated cocktails, Tile stands true to the original goal of a bar, a communal space to drink and have fun.

169 Bar
169 E Broadway, New York

Cheapest Beer: PBR/Miller $5

Cheetah print pool table. Backyard. Cheap booze. Literally what else do you want? The ever so slightly subterranean, 169 is a staple on any good nighttime mob. The backyard is cozy and provides a great place to bum a cig. The bar is always crowded with new york's cool kids and old head regulars who spread the gospel of new york's past. An all time favorite and an essential for any great mob.

If your into cheap drinks and a good time join us at our next show at Home Sweet Home. Grab your $6 beer and come dance to indie, electro clash and French House on April 4th.
